Some love for La Toja

Even though I can't pinpoint a particular reason--it's not the slickest soap, it doesn't provide the thickest lather, the smell is good but not great--I find myself reaching for my La Toja stick again and again, and loving every shave.

something to be said for a product that always works great and is a pleasure to use.
plus, i love the scent! to me it smells like the ocean--in a very good way.

I tried it and liked the lather but I didn't care for the scent. I know it is supposed to smell like to ocean but to me it smelled like burnt chocolate...

Even though it was purchased as a travel stick because of it's hard case, it still makes it into my everday rotation.

It's in fact the only non tallow that does on a regular basis !

Love the "spicy" smell. :thumbup1:

I know what you mean. It's the soap I reach for more than any other. I have to remind myself that there are a bunch of other options in the den, but I just gravitate toward La Toja for some reason. I really like the fragrance, so maybe that has something to do with it for me.

La Toja is mysterious.

Something about it just beckons you back to it ... even when your deep into a well thought out and heavily planned rotation (with spreadsheets & all) for some unexplained reason you say to yourself " Hey, I am going with the La Toja even though its suppose to be DR Harris Arlington tonight"

yes, i'm with you guys--there's something so basically good and enjoyable about la toja that you're always reaching for it.

here's another quality i've found -- it always make an incredible superlather, no matter what you combine it with.

a happy product for happy people.

I have to wonder if the reason I like this soap so much is just that I can't find anything wrong with it. Most of my other creams and soaps are excellent in one quality, but lack in another; some smell really good, but are scents that I need to be in the mood for, or that just get old if I use them too much; some are ultra slick, but are hard to lather; some provide great lather, but straight-up stink. La Toja offends in no way; it is such a perfect workhorse. I think that I'm going to have to get some La Toja AS now...

I like this so much as a travel stick that I've been using it this past week in place of my MWF shave stick while I'm on the go.
Can't quite put my finger on it but I like it more than a lot of lesser tallow soaps.
