Soap with a Silvertip

I just bought a 21mm silvertip shavemac, and I was wondering if it's safe to use it with soaps? I'm somewhat new to soaps (well, new to using them correctly with the help of the thread from B&B) and I really don't want to pull half of the hair out of the brush using it with a soap. I know that Boar/pure badgers are supposed to be better for soaps, but would a silvertip be out of the question?

Silvertips have been known to spontaneously combust when used with soaps.

Exercise extreme caution. This is a shaving brush, after all.

It should be fine. If it is a short dense loft it should actually do well. If not and using a hard puck put some very hot water on the top to soften it.

I use my silvertip with Williams and it lathers beautifully. My brush seems no worse the wear from using it with that soap.

I used my Shavemac silvertip this morning with Irisch Moos soap - it was remarkable how well it lathered (and I chided myself for not using the 'mac more).

Conclusion: 'Mac moves up in the rotation!

Have at it - the Shavemac is made for soaps.

I only use Simpson Super Badger and soaps nine out of ten days. I put some hot water on top of the soaps while brushing my teeths, and then put the Chubby 3 to work. This is what it is made to do, and my, it does it wonderfully:)
