What's new

So Stoked! Got my first fountain pens!

After much humming and hawwing, I decided to take the plunge and give fountain pens a shot. I ordered a Pilot Metropolitan, a couple of Pilot Petit1's and a Pilot Penmanship. I can't wait for work tomorrow so I can start running them through the paces. (I'm a high school teacher and have some marking and prep work that I've been putting off in anticipation of getting these pens).

Just wanted to share.

Not sure on the other 2, but the metropolitan is a terrific pen to start with. You made a good choice there.

The Metro is a great beginner pen and if you can control your spending, you may not need another one! The Petit is a great pen to just put in your pant pocket or bag and carry around. Never used a Penmanship, kind of looks like a Plumix without the italic nib.

Is it bad I've been eyeing different reds for marking already?

i guess I better figure out how to post pics to a forum.

As for the red, I rather like Aurora red and Waterman red.

But there are so many inks out there these days. You'll have fun trying them all.

The Goulet's make ink sample packages by color. Can't go wrong there if you want try a bunch of reds.

Heretic.

i thought it said somewhere in the terms of use for B&B that your not allowed to have any fiscal self restraint...

The pens in uniform cracked me up... All though I have been looking at some Sailors.

Thanks for the heads up with the sample packs from Goulet... I need goblet my AD funds recover before my next purchaser SWMBO will get upset. Now I have razor, shaving cream, AS, FP, and corals (saltwater reef tank).

Welcome to the slippery slope ;-) As for red ink to dash the hopes of your young students....Noodler's Nikita has been my red of choice lately, but you may want to check out Sailor's ink line while you peruse their pens...I like their red too.
