Have been away for a couple years since the watch hobby took all my time and spare cash...
but back on B&B and having a look around and so many great new Stainless Steel DE's on the market.
I enjoy a straight shave and used them exclusively for about a year but now that I'm married and have a 'real' job I just don't feel like all the extra effort of to maintain my straights and the extra prep required to use them everyday. I still like to keep a few on hand for leisurely shaves on the weekend or on special occasions

However just got my tax refund and wanted to try a few of the high end DE's so got a Feather ASD-1, Tradere SB, and ATT Titan R1. Feather just got delivered today, will try tomorrow.

I too have a history with DE razors, mainly vintage Gillettes and I am now very impressed with the stainless Feather. I bought it in the fall of 2010 and it has grown on me considerably! I have four CooncatBob refurbished Gillettes that I used to rotate, then I went into Slims and now I can see what $100 more gets me. I never thought that vintage Gillettes could be bettered, but my current favourite is the Feather with IKON baseplates (OSS and OC)! Good luck with your stainless razors!

Enjoy those razors. It definitely is a good time to be in DE razor shaving with all of the stainless steel options out there. They are great quality and all of them vary a little so there's something for everyone. The ATT system is a great option and offers something for everyone. Be sure to check out some of the aftermarket stainless steel handles too. I love my UFO's.

I also pulled the trigger on a Atlas M1 so have really gone nuts this month and got 4 new razors but compared to watch collecting RAD seems not too bad.

I have only used it about 3 times but so far I really enjoy my Feather ASD-1. It feels great to shave with such a well made precision instrument....
