What's new

So I was inspired to give a gift...

...to share something I like (if I were to share something I love, I'd give booze!).

So I went to West Coast Shaving and had a 'em send a friend the following items:

One Futur
One double edge sampler
One Vulfix 1016
One Proraso

I'd strongly considered asking some inane question like "What would YOU give...etc, etc..."

But, figured I'd go with what *I* like.

Man. I wish I had a friend like me.

Ahh...Life is good!

Now, to await the outcome.

Feel free to add me to your gift list.:w00t:

Nice job. If that doesn't convert someone then they are lost to the 5th level of multi-blade hell.

I thought it would be fun to post the reply I got from him...

"Yer present came! (snip) I'll never need to buy (snip) supplies ever again. 15 different kinds of blades, a badger fur brush hand made in England, and a German double sided old fashioned safety razor. I always wanted one of those, but the only one I ever saw was my dad's, and he got rid of it when I was little. The shaving cream is on back order apparently.

This is a really cool razor too. It's actually heavy enough to break a toe if I were to drop it on one. Heavy stuff's the best.
It's really solidly built, and easy to change blades with too.

I never knew there were so many types of double sided blades. There's even a pack from Israel. So much stuff, and none of it from China, or assembled in Mexico. None of it plastic either!

It made me wish I wasn't so clean shaven when I got it. I'll use it in the morning.

Is the shaving cream the old lather kind, or the modern foam kind?

(snip)

Thanks for the gift. Can't wait to use it. (snip)

-Lyle"

What fun!!

And..I also dropped the name of this place as well.

maybe I have too much time on my hands right now.

Did you make sure to tell him, "First one's free, like the drugs?" :001_rolle Seriously tho, nice work. You're a good friend! :thumbup1:

My sentiments entirely, sir!

I too have just given gifts.

I was highly embarassed :blushing:that I missed a good friend's 40th last year. In my defence, he does live overseas and I don't see him too much these days, but that's beside the point ......

So I managed to find a birth year razor - a Gillette Super Adjustable - Short Handle O-1 for him.:thumbup1:

For his wife, who also likes a good shave:blink:, I found a Lady Gillette M-1. Not her birth year (a point which I also made clear) but at least in her favourite colour, blue.

I also included a variety of blades to try and no doubt, I'll hear from my mate Dave before too long!

Indeed. To me, that's one of the things that's the most fun about this hobby: turning others onto our addiction passion. In that spirit, I've pre-purchased a B&B 2009 Limited Edition brush in butterscotch for a good friend.

He damn well better like it, too. :mad3::tongue_sm
