What's new

so I don't hijack the other nivea thread.......

I've been a proponent of nivea balm for years, great stuff, but I've never paid much attention to which one has what scents. right now I have Replenishing in the shave den, but its getting low and I need to get a new bottle. which of these has the absolute least amount of scent and lingers the shortest time?? is there an unscented one?? or is there another nearly unscented balm out there that compares favorably to the nivea products?? I want something I can add a touch of bay rum (or other splash) to without covering it up and etc.

basically, I want it all, the moisturizing capability of a good balm, the fantastic scent of whatever a/s splash I desire and I don't wanna spend 30 bucks for a bottle of it.

I've done this successfully with AoS unscented balm, although it is pricier than Nivea. I just pump 3-4 spritzes from the AoS into my palm of my hand, shake out the AS into the palm as well, rub both my hands together to mix the two, then apply.

interesting!

personally, I think the repleneshing asb performs pretty dang well for the price! Not really sure about the scent, though. I honestly don't notice it even having much of a scent.

While the replenishing does have a somewhat stronger scent than the sensitive skin, I find it tones down any AS just about right. It subdues the strong scent of just about any AS , but leaves a nice personal level of the AS scent for personal and up close enjoyment. The replenishing scent blends and disappears for the most part, perhaps leaving a slight powdery finish to what ever AS scent you have under it.

My personal routine is : after a good cold water rinse, witch hazel splash, pat dry, AS scent of day, luv the burn, then finish with Nivea replenishing balm, rubbed in well.
