Smooth handle ball-end?

A while ago someone posted about a rather rare gillette handle. It was a ball end with only one direction of knurling, leaving a barberpole look.

I am not certain, but I think I've won a ball end gillette with no knurling whatsoever on the handle.

Could you take a peek at this and tell me what you see?

I dont want to burst the bubble but it may just be that the knurling is worn away.....I highly doubt it though. The barrel definitely has no knurling at all from what I can see and that is a first for that. Great eye.

Mr. Razor does have 2 smooth handled old types. One is of the single ring variety, and the other is a Canadian old type, but that handle is funky in a Canada sort of way (like other canadian variations, smooth ball and thinner handle).

Now that I think about it....I have the Canadian Single Ring variety sold on Ebay in the past.

Yours could a new style not known of or a combination of the two.....time will tell i guess

Another possibility is that someone repaired a cracked handle tube with a piece of brass tubing of the correct diameter.
The oxidation and wear on the tube and collar are pretty uniform though, so it could also be a rare model.

Very cool..That would be my barber pole old type. I would agree yours looks like it could be a repaired handle with a piece of brass or copper tubing of the correct diameter.
but its hard to tell from the pictures

As crazy as I thought that sounded, that is exactly what this is. There are very faint traces of knurling on the barrel, and evidence that this was attached to something, spun around and worn off. Also, the head is not gillette. Is says Made in U.S.A. inside an oval.
