Small Frame back and WIP

I wanted to test the niolox (stainless steel with niobium) to make straight razor and i had only 3.2 steel bar.
I choosed to make a modern frame back to test.


I brocke the blade during the quench but as i don't intend to waste steel, i did something a bit shorter. 4 cm sharp, the shaving is OK and that is great to shave other part than the beard

Wow it looks interesting, pretty cool. How thick is the blade? It appears to be quite the monster!

3.2mm steel (before cleaning, after more or less 3mm), 2mm titanium on each side for a 8/8

Very cool, I'd love to own a big meat cleaver some day. I like your take on the frame back, very interesting. I wonder how it will hone though

Is that frame metal or wooden?

The frame is in titanium . The honing is the same than for other straight, but if want to keep the anodisation, you need to use scotch.

I thought it was some sort of metal, it was hard to tell with the reflections on my phone though. Wood wouldn't be very good I would assume for the frame hah! Very, very cool. I'm envious of the talent.

You're nice, i think it's possible for everybody to make something good, if you have the time and the passion, everything is possible
