What's new

Small but still cool thrift store find.

During my classes I have a 3 hour break with nothing to do. Considering I commute to school this means staying in the area of my college till my next class.

Today I decided to get a bite to eat and then participate in one of my favorite hobbies... thrifting. So what do I find but 2 interesting shaving items! I think I will be stopping here more often!

I'm just dying to find a cork or nozzle for that Witch hazel bottle... The old spice telescope is 90% full...mmm...

Total expenditure... $3.50

i had no idea old spice ever made one of those.

that looks awesome.

It's so you can see where you are applying the product......they thought of everything......

Goes w/their nautical theme, too, I guess.

Neat score, Rahgnar!

That witch hazel bottle is way classier than my plastic drug store ones.......

Very nice Old Spice find! The telescope decanters where sold from 1973-1983 and came in both red and black. Yours was made between 1973 and 1976, starting in 1977 the small sail at the top of the mast was curved. They stopped making the black ones in 1978. I have several of each one, here's a black one like yours I found a couple years ago in the original package. Vintage Shulton Old Spice is great stuff!

That's great! I've been trying to find the telescope decanter (full) and I like the witch hazel bottle. I went to a resale store once and found a glass bottle of the vintage Old Spice for a dollar. It was about 3/4's full. You never know what you'll find at those stores.

I used to have the OS telescope decanter that was given to mne for Christmas years ago , I wish I had kept it.

That's really cool. Both are good finds.

When I saw the Old Spice telescope, I could just see it as a prop in a 3-Stooges skit--They are looking for something in the distance, Curly sees the telescope, makes typical 3-stooges noises, raises the telescope to look through it, and gets an eye-full of Old Spice.

Thanks alot for the awesome information Hoosiertrooper!! I was wondering when it was made ad was unsure as my specialty is mostly Fenton glass.

I had another great find today that I was very happy with, I can't wait to shave tonight to try it out!

Some guys have all the luck. What the hell? I hear that Thrift Shop song on the radio 7 times a day to and from work, and I haven't even seen a thrift store on this island!

AH, perfect place to ask my question. Since i have already posted here.

i found a telescope that looks just like the OS one. On the OS collectibles page it says that avon made them as well, but that avon never sold OS products. I'm guessing since the one i found was gold instead of silver, that it's probably not original OS. Still looks cool though.

It looks like this was my day for Old Spice as well. This is a new 1993 set from the thrift shop today for $6.98.
