What's new

slant razors

For me, the Slant is a smooth and efficient razor, in that it mows down my beard like a hot knife through butter, and does not irritate my face.

It doesn't give me closer shaves than other DE razors, but I don't feel the blade on my skin. It's particularly good for those with hair growing flat or in different directions.

I love my 39c. Very close but comfortable shaves. Few weepers or nicks. No pressure needed. Love the feel- and the look!

one of my first purchases next year will be the 39C, right behind a new TV and a French Press.

how does the slant work on the south/north pass or ATG? the only way for me to get a smooth stubble free shave is to go ATG...

HI,
what are the differences and or advantages to using a slant razor? thanks alot!
You can go now to B.O.S.S. thread under safety razors and find most of your answers. There have been many threads on slants recently. Read about the scything guillotine action of a slant. Try the Merkur 37c or 39c with any good blade. A good affordable choice would be Astra SP. I like Gillette blacks, Feather, and Polsilver SI's.

Maybe someone a little wiser will chime in, but IMHO carefully watch the pressure and angle with a slant
as you would with any other aggressive razor, or it WILL bite. Hard. I cut myself the first couple times
with my 37c, but now I'm good to go.

You're going to love the French Press too. It's the last coffee maker you'll ever buy.

HI,
thanks for all the info,i will keep the 39c in mind, but of course i will have to cut back on buying new stuff! Merry Cristmas and Happy new year to all!
