I bought a Duke 3 about a month or two ago. At first it shed about 10 hairs for the first few days. I thought it was just initial shedding because it was a new brush, which I heard sometimes happens. But now it still sheds every shave. About 5 hairs per shave and I dont even lather aggressively. Is this a common thing? Can I get it replaced? Should I contact the vendor or the brush company? Thanks. I'll check this thread after work.

I had the exact same issue and used it for 6 months with the same problem. For some reason I thought it would stop. I contacted Simpsons and they said I could return it with original receipt. Well I didnt have receipt anymore and the vendor did not have a record of it due to a change in accounting software. Pretty much SOL. I sold it at a deep discount. Since it is recent I would contact Simpsons and have them fix the issue. Make sure you have proper docmentation or they wont be much help. Duke's have been known to be notorious shedders also.
That seems like way too much shedding to me. My D3 has probably lost 5 hairs total since I got it. I'd contact your vendor immediately.

Yeah I thought it would stop after a week but it just keeps shedding. I bought it from WCS but I'm still not sure if I should contact them or contact Simpsons instead.
I have a D3 in 2 band and it has shed maybe 4 or 5 hairs since I've had it. Sorry to hear yours is shedding more than it should. I hope you can get it worked out!
I have a Duke 2 that doesn't shed at all. Maybe lost 5-7 hairs during the first two months.
Contact WCS first, John always takes care of his customers.
Interesting. I have a Duke 2 that was a gift from my family last Christmas. I didn't use it much up until a couple of months ago, but now I use it around 50% of the time and it always loses 2/3 hairs with every shave. Far too late to do anything about it though!
My Duke 3 2-Band has shed 3-4 hairs after 12-15 shaves. Sorry to hear about your problems with the Duke !
Definitely contact WCS. The one time I had an issue with something I bought from them I got excellent service.
WCS is some of the nicest people ive worked with. Online or in person. As others have said, they will help you.
My Duke 2 is also a shedder. Sucks, you'd expect a bit better more consistent knot from Simpson. I still love the brush.

Yeah I love WCS their customer service is great. I just wasnt sure if I should contact them or Simpsons instead. I emailed WCS hopefully something good happens.
I had a commodore 2x that wouldn't stop shedding. I bought it from west coast shaving and that's who I contacted. They sent a new one right away. Great service!

I contacted WCS. Theyre sending a new brush out. They really do have the best customer service. Thanks all for the input.
