Simpson Persian Jar 3

I'm consindering the Simpson Persian Jar 3 with the following specs for bowl lathering.
Total Height: 112mm
Bristle Loft: 53mm
Knot Dia: 24mm
Hair: Simpson Super Badger

I'm not against one of the chubby 3's or any of the others you fellows might recomend but I'm a bowl latherer.

I have one in 2-Band and it is a great brush. The PJ3 makes more sense to me as a bowl-lathering brush than a Chubby does.

agreeing with djh, you do not want a chubby or similar brush for "bowl lathering". the handles are too short.

even my D2 was too stout for bowl lathering, but the D3 size was ok.

The Persian Jar Series seems to be designed for bowls and scuttles, while Chubbies are almost exclusively face lathering brushes. Go with the PJ3.

I have the PJ3 in both 3-band Super & 2-band. Both are excellent and have the "Monica Bellucci" of handles, which as others have said, is perfect for bowls & scuttles.

I agree with what others have said; you don't want a Chubby for bowl lathering. If you really want one, it would work, but there are better options out there...such as a PJ3!!

Of course, YMMV. For instance, I usually bowl lather and a Duke 2 is one of my favorite brushes.

I use a Chubby 2 for bowl lathering in my Dirty Bird Bill Bill Bowl, but the stubby type handles don't seem optimal for bowls.
