Simpson Best Vs 2 Band

Having recently purchased a duke 2 in best I am getting the itch to move up to a 2 band. My question are the tips softer?

+1... Of course individual brushes as individual batches of hair may differ... But the currently available 2 band hair has very soft but resilient hair. Perfect for soaps and creams alike... I got 5 different brushes in the last month and they all share those same attributes...
The tips are softer IMO. I prefer the 2 band so much more than the regular 3 band hair.

I recently purchased a Duke 2 in best, and bought a Tulip 2 2 Band just the other day. I'll let ya know. I'd tell ya to go ahead and buy it :)

I wouldn't say that the tips are softer in 2-band, but they are soft enough so that together with the firmness of the bristle they provide a unique sensation. You will see the difference and like it. I apologize if your goal was to save $$$, but you should eventually try it.

IMO I would go with a 2 band if you are able. I find 2 bands to have excellent backbone and flow through with very soft bristles when wet. Also, much easier brush clean up.

My keyhole 4 in best is softer than my Chubby 3 2 band. But, the Chubby 3 has nicer face feel...it's scrubby without being too firm. My keyhole 4 is pillow soft and very nice, but doesn't have the same backbone. The keyhole is great for creams and the Chubby is great for soaps.

To me, the 2 band Simpsons knots are in a different bigger league from their Best. The current 2 band batch is very soft. It's not only about softness though. All knot properties contribute to the different feel and overall performance - density, lather release, bloom, splay, etc. I'm commenting only on the properties alone, and the differences between the two hair grades which are signifficant IMO. If one cares for these properties is subjective as well as justifying the price. Here's my current Simpsons family, three of them 2 banded. The E3 is still wet from its first lather tonight.

I own Duke 3 in 2-band & Chubby 2 in 2-band and they have softer tips than the Best hair versions I owned of the same brushes. But dry they seem a tad stiffer though, but once soaked for 2 minutes, they are softer yet have more backbone IMHO

I like best. Never been a fan of 2-band. Has a synthetic feel to me. My nephew loves 2 band because of the backbone and thinks it is easier to make lather with

I'm a huge fan of Simpsons Best and Super 3 band, never got in love with the Super 2 band. I find that both the Best and Super 3 band have soft tips (ultra soft on the Super 3), excellent backbone and bloom beautifully.

+1 Agree 1000%...couldn't have said it better myself.
