I realize that compared to most other Simpson brushes that the Berkeley is pretty understated, simple, and not much of a head turner, but was looking for a badger to mix it up with my stable of boars, that was primarily a face latherer, and wouldn't break the bank, and the Berkeley seemed to fit the bill perfectly. We'll see once I start using it! Just thought it would be nice to post a pic of it!
It's a small brush, no doubt about that, but not miniature. I purposefully wanted a smaller brush because the Semogue boars I have, although are great for bowl lathering, seem to fan out a bit much for face lathering, and wanted something a bit more precise. The handle is a tad smaller in diameter than the handle of my Semogue 830, but not that much smaller. Definitely the shortest loft of all the brushes I own, which will hopefully lend itself to being a better face latherer. I have average size hands and the brush feels just fine. If you have ham hocks or giant sausage fingers you probably would think this brush is too small.
