There have been threads on this before, but I thought I'd start another. I've always used soaps in bars, but I do have some gels that are recent additions. Usually they seem more expensive, especially if you get a luxury brand like AdP.....basically soap with a little scent added and a whopping price tag.
The reason I started this was to plug something I bought that I haven't seen discussed: Musgo Real Men's Shower Gel Shampoo. I had not seen this on ClassicShaving (where I got my other Musgo stuff) but noticed it on WestCoastShaving, so I ordered a bottle. I'm not disappointed.
Like every other Musgo product I've tried, this stuff is a solid performer and a good value when compared to other luxury products. I haven't used it as a shampoo, but I'm sure it would be fine. Its got that great Musgo scent, and a little goes a long way. One good squirt (1-2t??) on a washcloth easily generates gobs of rich lather. It even has a well-designed bottle that fits easily into my hand in the slick environment of the shower.
I noticed that Musgo is made by Claus Porto in Portugal. I like Porto soaps, but they're much more expensive. I wonder if Musgo was acquired later.
