Show us your man bags!

This thread can be the place for you guys to show off your man bags, he-purses, satchels and carry-all's.

I seem to be continually having to increase the amount of stuff I have to tote around and, more often than not, my pockets just don't cut it. My job is not one where a briefcase would be appropriate, and I like to have my hands free.

These are the two satchels I usually choose from, more often than not I have to go for the bigger one. They are both really old, possibly genuine antiques, and I have restored both of them from a pretty sorry state. The bigger one is slowly having all its stitching replaced as it disintegrates.

The only problem is I cant use either of them when I travel. The smaller one used to be my shooting bag and the larger one I use at work where I handle nitrate film all the time. I have now set off the airport explosives detector twice. :001_rolle Apart from that small problem I think they are pretty cool, and really fit with my recycle and restore vintage philosophy.

I know the feeling. A few months back there was a thread about coin purses. It almost killed me. :w00t:

You don't want to know how I read the title of this thread.

I don't really get any innuendo from "man bags." Now, if he had said, "Show us your skin chandeliers," I may have abstained from clicking on the thread.

At any rate, those are gorgeous bags! I'm guessing that's what the Saddleback bags end up looking like in 50 or so years.

I use a VertiGo from Waterfield:

It carries everything I need: Kindle, phone, netbook, pens, miscellaneous crap, batteries, keys. And is lightweight. I looked at leather satchels, but that stuff is just too heavy to cart around every day on your shoulder (on my shoulder, any way).

I've been using this one for 2-3 years and it's held up really well - no visible wear, no issues.

I have one of there small puches that hold all my electronic gadgetry (ipod, camera, cables, etc) and they are really durable bags.

Kadeem Hardison's character( Dwayne Wayne) on ' A Different World' carried a set of saddlebags that were perfect-I never was able to find a set like them.

Count me in on wondering where the title of this thread was going.....

I generally tote a small backpack around. I cannot/will not ever wear a man bag. I don't think I could pull off the look and it would honestly bother me to have uneven weight distribution no matter how small it is.

My wife thinks the Leatherman bags are too stuffy for someone in their early 30's. I have had a Timbuk2 bag since 2004 that has stood the test of time. I carry everything in it, and even take it on business trips while wearing a suit.

+1. Bags belong on motorsickles :001_smile

Not that I do't have anything to tote my junk around in. I bought the bag for dual purpose. It's an awesome little pack for day hikes(setup for hydration) and short overnight trips but I also use it to haul my junk to and from the office on a daily basis. Best bag I've ever owned it is very comfy and doesn't make my back sweat, not to mention it balances weight like a champ. I think I'm going to have to get a Deuter pack for longer hiking trips into the mountains. Something into the 60-80L range.

I use a Kenneth Cole Reaction briefcase/messenger bag. But, I only use it when I need it (business meeting, trip, seminar), not an everyday bag.
