What's new

Should I start now, during or later?

My skin is has a lot of acne and blackheads. i haven't started wet shaving yet but to get rid of the acne i plan on using a scrub and mosturizer. should i do this and get acne free skin before start wet shaving, start while wet shaving or wait till i learn how to use a de and then start after?

For a start yes, a scrub will remove the heads but I would follow up with a light antiseptic applied with a q-tip to prevent it reacurring, I used to have exactly the same problem but I can happily say after using a facial wash and scrub it's gone. Consider a wash as it will remove the dirt. Clinique is expensive but very effective.

As for the shaving, it will dehead a pimple or too but it's no big worry, i would use a DE as one blade crossing across your face is far less irritation than 'five'. Using any multiple razor cartridge will only make it worse. YMMV, but good luck!

I recommend going to your local Trader Joes and pick up some Desert Essence Thorough Clean Facial Wash with Tea Tree Oil. I did this 2 weeks ago and my face is almost zit free.. Since the weather changed I got a major break out *normal during late fall early winter for my skin, also since I started using this facial wash as well as Dr Bronners Magic Soap, all skin problems I have had during this time of year has been disappearing..

Cheers,

NO

Using a scrub will exacerbate pre-existing acne, and it will not heal properly. Use only a gentle face wash and moisturize when your skin is dry.

For acne treatment itself, use 2.5% benzoyl peroxide on blemishes at night before bed
