What's new

Should I be worried?

Ya... $75 is cheap for that, but it's "fair"

It's not like he started the auction at $5 and it sold for that.
The high starting price is likely what scared bidders away.

Summed it up pretty well. It should be a great writer and already broken in. Enjoy it when it shows up!

The price looks slightly high to me, but it's still reasonable. And if it's a good writer, you'll soon forget that you may have overpaid a little.

www.xe.com tells me that the EUR 50 I had in mind, translate to US$ 65. So US$ 75 sounds reasonable indeed.

I grabbed my last one for about 60 bucks shipped, your not way off, and getting them cheaper usually requires some patience in looking. For a quick grab that isnt bad, as long as the nib is okay as its tough to tell with the blurry pics how it is. And from the sellars description I dont think he is very knowledgable about FPs so its tough to say. But id say its probably going to be fine and you got a good pen at an okay price, I wouldnt be worried

Well if Dougs says nothing, then Id stop worrying, and start getting excited, and then upset the postal service is to slow. then start going mad cause you want your new pen already

You are clear to begin your descent

Thanks fellas

He said new in the description, I hope the nib is good. Anyway, I'll probably order a nib or two in different sizes anyway (driving up the cost I know).

I just heard in my head what some of you will say, "different size nibs, just get more pens"

I'll probably just get the B&B LE from F-C and call it a day. I just cant fall into ADs. A pen for the home office and a pen for the road and that's about all I can handle.

Famous last words.

Famous last words.

No kidding.
Love the Lamy Al-Star.
Wanted multiple colored inks for the office.
Al-Star wasn't available in the colors I wanted, so I now have red, yellow, blue, and green Safaris inked respectively, yellow has an italic nib.

But was that enough? No.

As much as I like the Al-Star, it's just a bit "clunky"... so it now shares my inside jacket pocket with a black Lamy CP1. Very nice, slim pen.

Yea, I figured somebody would say that too. I'll let you know how that works out LOL.

the price of different nibs for the m200's are nearly what you can get a whole pen for ;)

I just looked and saw them for $30 from isellpens.com, are there any better prices out there? Or is it as the ladies say "if the shoe fits, buy 'em in every color"?

I watched that pen for a few weeks waiting for him to drop his price before I pounced since it isn't exactly what I want. He never answered me back if it had the box and papers which I like to have if at all possible, that may have been what was holding other buyers back. For me I do not want anymore medium nib pens, I have enough and I prefer a stub or a fine/extra-fine nib right now. I know I can buy other nibs, but I really don't want to if I can avoid it upfront.

I know that it looks really nice and the grey isn't produced anymore good catch!

So you were holding out but I ruined that, sorry.

I guess I'm too much of a noob to know what to look for. He said new never used so I didn't think about box and papers, I just assumed. Also to new to really know what nib is best for me. All I've tried so fare are Pilot varsity and a couple 78Gs

Sorry it took so long to post about the pen. It arrived much quicker than anticipated.

It was wrapped with a piece of light foam (no other box or papers) in a small USPS box with a few foam peanuts (no jellybeans).

I inked it with Lamy Blue-Black and it wrote right away with no problems. If it needs tweaking or breaking in then I'm to new to know, it seems fine to me.
