Short/Mini Strokes

My barber uses short/ mini stroke with the straight razor. I asked her why. She said it keeps the blade lubricated and prevents irritation. Thought I would pass the wisdom along.

Interesting hypothesis, not sure how true it is. Probably less chance carving your customer’s face than with a long stroke though.

That's how I've always shaved with a DE razor too.

Buffing strokes , when done by Barber
Using a Straight Razor..
