Shaving Mug Question

I currently own a wonderful shaving mug from dirty bird pottery. That being said, I thought I might like to purchase another mug to take to the fire station for when I need to shave there. That being said, I have been considering an old occupational mug (too expensive), or an older old spice mug. Thing is, I know nothing about collecting or purchasing these items. My question is how much should one pay for an old spice mug? What makes them more or less attractive (other than condition issues)? Any help would be appreciated.

when buying something, get what you like. Old Spice mugs are not that expensive except for the rare or hard to find ones. If you don't know what you are buying DON'T pay a lot (good rule to follow for buying anything)

The Sportsman Occupational shaving mugs aren't very expensive (~$15) and are very nicely made as well as sturdy. I have a few of them. I think they were made in the 50's or 60's as a promotional item. I have 3 of them, great reproductions of days gone by. You might have to pay a little more for a Fireman one ($20-30)as it's a popular profession.

I got my old spice mug on e bay for next to nothing but the prices vary quite a bit, I would just keep your eye out and you'll get a cheap one soon. There's so many around that there's no point spending much just be patient.

I have managed some good deals in antique malls. Many of my mugs, Old Spice and otherwise, were under $5. That's not for anything fancy, though.

To do it over again, I wouldn't worry so much about getting shaving mugs as much as just any mug or tankard that was the right size and shape that was decorated the way I liked.
