shaving gets rid of headaches!

So I thought I would post this and see if any one has had the same experience. I suffer from headaches and sore muscles, and Im assuming they are mostly caused by stress. I find that I wake up with a headache 4-5 times outta the week. I used to live off advil and the like. Ever since I've started DE shaving I find that I have a moment in my day set aside only for me. A time to take a break from life. A time to relax, focus on technique, lather production and achieving that irritation free shave. After I am done shaving wheather its day or night my stress and anxiety have melted away and BOOM headache gone. Does anyon else find shaving a huge stress reliever?

Good to hear this works for you in such a way. Maybe yoga or some meditations classes would be in order for you too:) Anyway, I don't suffer with headaches I do find this to be rewarding in many ways one of which like you, is relieving stress. It's a nice moment of the day to myself and afterwards feeling like a million bucks is a great feeling.

Speaking from experience I would suggest you buy a glucometer to check your Blood Glucose Levels in the morning. If you are low that's why you have a headache. If you are high it could be Dawn Phenomenon caused by a low during the night from about 2am on.
Good luck.

Men who shave daily are also less likely to die of coronary heart disease (The Caerphilly Study). Now granted, it's probably just incidental rather than causative. It is still fun to think about how shaving might lengthen lifespan, cure headaches and enhance one's mood, etc.

I think the stress-reliever supposition is just as good as any.

Cheers

No headaches with me (the physical kind), but I love the meditative element to my 'me time'. And I love to shave in complete silence. Carefully and thoughtfully making my lather, hearing the echo of the razor feedback against the tile in my showers and of course the pre and post repertoires all add up for a great experience day after day.

Most importantly, I find that taking my time from start to finish is the most important to all of this. I'll shave at night before bed to do so when necessary.

Definitely isn't helpful if it's a Saturday or Sunday morning "hangover," if you know what I mean. I will, however, agree, that since switching to DE shaving early last year that my mornings are so much better and really set the tone for a positive day, regardless of the work that I'm walking into.

I've got anxiety/panic disorder and the shaving doesn't do anything for that. But it is relaxing.

ya its not the actual shave that can relax and get rid of my stress and headaches, but more the time spent taking a break and focusing in on something that takes skill. I'm sure the same could be true for a many of hobbies. I thought it was just interesting to note that finding something you love to do can make a huge difference in the start or finish of your day.
