Sharp blade suggestions

So far I've used:

BIC Chrome Platinum: Hated them. Tore my face up.
Astra SP: Love the smoothness I get for three shaves. Would like something sharper, though.
Feather: Love the sharpness I get for two shaves. Would like something smoother.

I'm OK with alternating between the two, but: 1) It would be awesome if there was something out there that combined the qualities I like between both blades, and 2) After paying only $10 to get 100 Astra SPs, I'm reluctant to pay $30 for the same amount of Feathers (this DE shaving thing has already spoiled me on blade prices haha).

Any suggestions? Thanks, fellas!

The Polsilvers are sharp and smooth. I like the personna blue labs and med preps too. They are pretty sharp ,not as sharp as feathers, but worth a investment in a five pack. Also you may want to try an injector. They are very sharp and give a great shave. The price of blades is a bit higher but I get a good number of shaves per blade.

Although I've never used them I've heard folks speak highly of Kia being really sharp and smooth.

otherwise I like Gillette Platinum, Gillette Black, and Voskhod.

Israeli Personna ("Reds") seem sharper than Astra SP and just as smooth. Polsivlers are very harsh in all my razors.

I've been using a Perma Sharp Super this week and so far it has given me 5 shaves and it is still going. For me that is excellent as most modern blades I like, Feathers for example, usually give up on me after 3 shaves. Astra SPs tear my face up, not good for any more than 1 shave and even then I don't like it.

Gillette blacks are my favorite. 5 shaves and counting. They don't work in every razor though IMHO.

Lately I've been sticking with my Schick Krona, which is super mild. Are the Gillette blacks usually better in more aggressive razors?

I prefer them in my less aggressive razors personally.

Feathers, KAI, Gillette Yellow, Wilkinson Black in that order.

For sharpness, Gillette 7 o'clock yellows, 7 o'clock permasharps, or if you want cheap, then Rapira Super Stainless.

I've read reviews that say Asco oranges are as good as the old Made in England Wilkies.
This theory I will test tomorrow as soon as the post man arrives with said blades.

I like Voskhod, Perma-Sharps, Polsiver Iridiums, Crystals,Ladas and Feathers. I use different blades with different razors.

I like the feathers in my Krona. But the Blues are great in there too. I have used the Blacks in the Krona. They work fine I just dont think they are as sharp or smooth as some other choices and for me they dont give many shaves.

They work good for me in any razor. I normally rotate between a Flare tip Super Speed or a Slant razor.

Counted up a quick tally and it looks like Polsilvers, Gillette Blacks, Perma-Sharp Supers, and Gillette Silver Blues were the most recommended. Just ordered a 5-pack of each from West Coast Shaving (except the Perma-Sharps, which they don't seem to carry). Can't wait to give these a try!
