Shapton Glass storage box

I'm thinking of picking up a couple of the Shapton Glass (HR) stones and thought I read here somewhere that the box pictured can be used to store two stones, but the site says specifically that this box won't work for the Glass stones.

I've already got a 1k Shapton Glass HR, which I keep in the cardboard box, but would like to pick up some plastic boxes, preferably on this order if possible.

Any input would be appreciated.

It won't hold two SG stones.

Shapton sell a 3 and a 7 stone holder for the Glass series; but they are holders, not boxes.

I could swear I read a post that stated it would hold two, but quite possible that it was not THIS box. I'm going to try and hunt down the post and read it more carefully.

Have the shapton 7s, so just use a Crown Royal bag. Drove a 16 penny nail it the wall on the side of the bathroom mirrors and just hand them their. Should be fine.

I'm just going off a post on one one of the other boards where someone tried to do exactly this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm hoping to get some boxes that I can toss in a drawer with my other razor stuff and not worry about damaging the stones.

It was a joke. I use a drying rack. I don’t like how the boxed can hold moisture. I live in a humid environments. If I don’t have air movement, I am asking for trouble.

I have noticed the Norton replacement boxes are a little thicker than the Naniwa and Shapton. You may check that out.

I see that the Naniwa boxes are the correct dimensions and one version is 1-1/8 deep, which should hold two 3/8 inch stones with room for something in between the stones for cushion/protection.

You can put two Shapton Glass stones in a Shapton Pro stone box.
I have an oak box for my Shaptons but I have stored the Glass Stones in Pro boxes numerous times. I happen to have all my GS out and a Pro Box too and put two inside and the lid closed fine.

That said, it's not a good way to store them. They are sitting on top of each other with no protection. If one or both are wet they won't dry correctly.
But they fit inside.
The double thick 50x and a regular size SG will fit too.
Again, this is not an ideal scenario.

I remember hearing something about the box holding two stones but it was sharpening supplies but with the naniwa stone holder, they have the s1 stone holder which holds a 10mm and the s2 holder that holds one 20mm or two 10mm

The Shapton stone holder takes quite a few if you put put then in sideways. I could probably fit another one in there but how many do you need? This progression goes from 500 to 30,000 grit.
