Now that it's been a couple of weeks and I've had a chance to put my new Semogue 830 to use, I thought that an update might be in order. It took 3 or 4 shaves for the knot to bloom, but when it did it was a dramatic and sudden change. This made an instant change in how easily it lathered, greatly improving flow through and allowing the lather to build and release from the brush, as opposed to new out of the box when the soap or cream just seemed to stick in the knot.
While the knot is beginning to soften at the tips, and it isn't exactly scratching, it sill has a long way to go to match my 1460 in softness. Of course it's already an excellent performer capable of turning hard soaps into giant piles of lather.
