I love the handle on the Semogue 830 but I would like to add a badger knot to it. What would be the best way to remove the knot? I was thinking about steaming it but I'm not sure if that would ruin the handle or knot. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cut the hair off with scissors as close to the handle as you can.
Use a small drill bit with tape on it so you don't go too deep and make a hole right down the center of the old knot.
Grind out the rest with a rotary tool. Get the metal cup out somehow. Clean it all up and pop a new knot in it.

It would probably be easier to buy the Semogue 730HD in badger.
I was thinking of doing this too, is there any reason you recommend removing the metal cup? Also its quite a lot cheaper to just buy a knot and stick it in there, around 30 as opposed to 80 for the 730HD.
