Second razor?

Just began DE shaving with a TV Superspeed but like any other self-respecting newcomer, I am starting to think of what would be a good second razor- something different but not too different (that would be razor no. 3) I am not going to rush this but looking for ideas to ponder.

If you can limit yourself to 1 razor, that would be best, but, I understand why you would look for another one...

Similar to the Superspeed? You could go with a Superspeed red tip (more aggressive), Blue tip (milder), black tip (not so sure).

I think the Merkur Classic would be closer to the superspeed than the Merkur HD but I wouldn't know as I didn't try either the Classic or HD!

Maybe try a good three piece razor. The Gillette New, either long or short comb, is excellent.

Razor 3 can be a Gem 1912, and # 4 can be an E, G, I, or J injector.:001_cool:

I'll put my vote in for a Slim.
The adjustables are funny because you tend to find the adjustment you like then never move them from that spot.
But it's worth a try.

They are plentiful and can be resold easily.

I just got a slim, and I REALLY recommend it. I have a Murkur Progress and a Slant, and the Slim is already by far my favorite. It has 3 times the grip of my Murkurs and is half as much trouble to maneuver around my nose. The "slim" blade head is pure win.

If you like the Superspeed, something that shaves close to the same but with more heft like an Aristocrat or HD Rocket may be appealing.

Take a look at the Merkur 1904, as well as the HD.

Both have the same size head, but I think they give a different shave. I have both, and I have them in both safety bar and open comb. I lean more towards the 1904, but the HD is a bit heavier, and IMHO gives a different shave. You can't go wrong with either, but having both is really all you'll need. :thumbup1:
