I picked this up yesterday from an Antique store for $35. Way more then I want to spend on something that I may never shave with, but I was looking for one of these:

Pitting on the blade, jaggies on the edge, scales are near perfect as far as I can see. What steps should I take to preserve it?

The tip of the blade is smiling a bit but the scales if they're in good shape like they appear in the pictures was worth it.
 
Sears didn't make razors, they sold them. They had several contractors who made the actual razors.
The scales are a fairly generic shape from the period and can be found on many different brands, so that printed ad may not be the same razor, just another one with the same scales.
You should oil it and may be get rid of the light rust on the blade, it looks that it may be active.
