What's new

Schick question

I'm going back to school soon and I just don't think I'll be able to fit my long luxurious DE shaves into my busy schedule (yes, I know the alarm clock works, but let's ignore that for the moment:001_rolle). Basically what is a nice experience now will turn into me rushing and cursing the amount of time it takes to make sure my angle perfect when I have to get to class or some meeting.

I'm wondering if I would be a good candidate for an Injector? I would bring my DE but from what I've read it seems like having something a little more care-free might make my life a little easier when times get busy...Thoughts?

Thanks!
Sam.

An Injector in it's own right is a very nice razor. There are folks who feel it is superior, and there are those that don't.

All would agree that rushing, even with an Injector, is a really bad idea.

With a little practice you can get a quick shave in with an Injector, a DE or a GEM, but none of them will ever be a repeat of the "zip and burn" of a cartridge, that's part of the attraction I think.

You will of course, do what works for you, but may I suggest that you stick with it, and practice your skills so that you can shave in less time with a DE or a SE.

yeah, that...or shave at night

Later Injectors (the "type I" and later) are mild shavers and are very forgiving. They also can be had for very little money, if you watch the BST. I apparently missed one that was recently selling for $5, and no one bought it.

If it was the Injector I was selling as part of a lot I found at an local Antique store, I ended up offering it up as a PIF instead. I already have a vice nice condition Hydromatic, and really don't need more than one Injector.

I use one of the older injectors and although you have to be careful with the angles and pressure just like a DE, I think after a few shaves it is definitely quicker than a DE. Not as fast or as carefree as a cartridge razor, but a great shave that is a nice compromise between the ritual of the DE and the convenience of the cartridge.

Give it a try!

That's the one! Good on ya for PIF'ing the razor, that was a classy thing to do!

Thanks all. I'm obviously not looking for the speed of a cartridge, those days are over. But I may give it a look...

I love Injectors:wink: You don't have to experiment with shaving angles, just keep the head flat against your face and mow away.:biggrin:It really is that simple.

Maybe the newer ones, but on mine there is a big chunk of blade showing and the gap is huge. It will definitely bite if I don't respect it.
