Schick Injector - WOW!!

I've been acquiring some injectors lately, PAL and Schicks. I just won this M34on the Bay.

Loaded up this morning with KMF and a new Schick blade from the local grocery store. BBS and unbelievably maneuverable. Great length and balance. I was able to whip around my face like I was driving a Mini on a tight race track.

I am still a fan of the traditional DE and have found some injectors to be boring, but this particular one may become my daily drive.

I like my L1 a lot too. Gives me a very good shave with a nos PAL Hollow Ground blade.

Batman,

Glad you like the razor !

I think the Schick Injectors are super razors :001_smile

I currently have a 1930s 'E' model, but would love to get hold of an 'L' or 'M' :001_smile

Have fun !

best regards

Russ

Sweet score! I love my injectors, especially my adjustable, but don't use them that often, as I prefer shaving with my DEs. Probably because when I shave with an injector, it's all over too quickly :biggrin1:

Try and get a hold of some twin blades. I get fantastic shaves from them in my M34.

Nice injectors! I really like the injectors, and I am beginning to prefer them over any DE. I get quick, close and comfortable shaves. I normally can get a very acceptable shave with one pass, and I have a tough/thick beard. :thumbup1:

Do twin blades work in a regular injector?

Wait -- you found new Schick blades at your local grocery store??!! Wow! Were they Schick brand, or just another brand that fits the injector razors?

BTW, congrats on that razor. They are great shavers.

I am pretty sure the Schick Injector Twin blades were designed to work in most Injectors. This was a special 1970's era Schick Injector blade, that featured two thinner Injector blades stacked one on top of the other. Thus the total height of the blade would be close to that of a regular Injector blade.

It was a novelty concept, and an attempt to compete with Gillette's then new Trac II.

My L type Injector has the Schick Twin blade currently loaded. It provides a very nice, and smooth shave, but I don't think it's noticeably better than a standard Injector blade.

This one is an M34. . .

I suspect that these M codes that we see on some of the Schicks are manufacturing codes of some kind, but not actual model numbers. For example, I have an L1 that has M29 on it, and an L2 (unmistakable, since it's the "Stick Schick") with M19.

The actual M models were the Schick adjustables, and only went as high as M3.

All that is based on the information on this page, which is frequently cited as a reference here. Of course, I can't be sure that all the information there is correct or complete, and I'm always open to more information or correction.
