Schick G4 "Route 66" Injector

I just a acquired a very nice Schick G4. I love the look of this razor. Can anyone tell me if there was a special reason Schick released a razor with the chrome head and blue handle or if it's just "because?" Meanwhile I am thinking "grow" to my beard so I can check it out with a shave.

The Schick G "66" razor shaves and looks like the other G's. It was called "66" because it retailed for 66 cents in 1949, its year of birth. I have one, and I too like the dark blue handle. It's an outstanding shaver. Smooth, comfortable and close. And handsome!

Very good shaver. You should be able to get a close shave. Type E are a little more aggressive. The finish on the "66" tend to hold up better than the gold finish Schick, at least mine has.

This has already become my favorite injector.

Would love one of these. I'm starting to get ESIF (Eversharp Schick Injector Fever). $4 at an antique store is all it takes to catch it. Did they make these with a smooth chrome head finish / blue handle? (Rather than the mottled chrome head finish)

I picked one up a while ago, and it's a really good shaver - but mine's a bit worn and is not as shiny as that one.

i got a NOS one off the bay when I got into injectors. It came with a tube of shave paste or something. I love it. I really like the blue/silver combo.

I won one on ebay last night. Hope it cleans up well.... looks a little cruddy, but promising .

Yummy..... don't know what the cruddy stuff is on the guard bar but it will wash out I'm sure. The case is pretty much toast.... but that looks like the original injector dispenser.

I am stupid, lucky, and lucky. I left my G4 in a New Jersey hotel. I have never had a hotel return anything. So I went to eBay and found another, first try, $12. I was even nicer than my first. Then...the hotel returned the original. I have an embarassment of richs...a G4 for each hand.

Wow, what luck!! Those do look great. Mine turned out just as nice as your's I would say based on your photos. It cleaned up very nice. Enjoy your's!
