Scent Projection

Some here on B&B feel that a fragrance is cloying if it projects beyond your personal space. What is the point of wearing a fragrance if it only projects to your 'lover'. Where is the line drawn on projecting a scent? Why bother wearing if it doesn't bring joy to those around you and confidence to you? I am in the subtle camp but not in the too subtle camp.

I like to be subtle when I wear fragranaces. I only wear enough so that those who get close to me can smell it. I suspect the reasons for this opinion are twofold: I am an introvert and so don't enjoy calling attention to myself- but also because so many people have fragrance allergies. I don't want to cause someone discomfort because of how I smell.

I'm not as trigger shy as some on here but I wear scents for myself not for the people around me. I wear enough on my chest so that I get whiffs all day but don't try to project beyond that.

I'm like BillC, I wear what I wear for myself. I like to get a pleasant whiff of the selection of the day as I move around but don't wear so much that I'm intruding on the rest of the office, or restaurant, as the case may be.

I think we all have encountered that guy who smells like he poured the bottle over himself. No excuse. Then there are scents that can be cloying just with one or two extra sprays. I wear cologne for me and I wear it for people around me... so I like projection. I like to be noticed and I like compliments. I think anyone who says that they wear cologne just for themselves is not being entirely honest. But hey...that's just my opinion. That said. I prefer that my cologne makes a subtle introduction and not an announcement. People standing close to me or via silage.
