SBAD...Simpson Polo 10 vs Rooney Victorian

Soooo while looking for a decent brush for bowl lathering I found a Simpson Polo 10 (Super 2-band) on the b/s/t and decided to pull the trigger. After a few shaves I wasn't quite sold on it. I had been reading up on some brushes that were notoriously good for bowl lathering and the Rooney Heritage Victorian popped up on my radar. After looking at it for a few days, I said *** it and pulled the trigger there as well.

At first, I thought i'd just re-list the simpson on the b/s/t since my first experiences of the brush depicted it as a lather hog. As the victorian was enroute (and delayed!?!? thwarted by UPS) I figured that I'd give the polo10 a few more attempts. Needless to say, it grew on me a bit and now I have to keep them both!

These are obviously post-bloom pics, but figured i'd share them nonetheless. Yeah...i'm keeping them both. Guess i'll have to keep working on getting a decent rotation set up, eh?

Two nice looking brushes! I have a Simpson Polo 10 in 2-Band and it is an excellent brush. The Polo line has a very comfortable handle to go with the wonderful Simpson 2-band knots.

Nice brushes. I have a Victorian - a big very dense knot that makes a change from the scritchier 2 bands that I normally use.

I definitely like having the variety! The simpson is quite a bit more scritchy compared to the victorian and the rooney 3/1 super

Took this pic just before the afternoon shave (i'm off today!). I used a bit TOO much product. It's a bit of a lather hog so I um....overcompensated just a tad too much. The cream is D.R. Harris Arlington and i had enough for an easy six passes if my face could've handled that kind of madness!

Not to rain on your parade, but that lather looks like it has way too much water. Just trying to be constructive, not overbearing.:wink2:
