Sapone specaile per barba tipo morbido

I tried some Sapone Speciale Per Barba Tipo Morbido today and this stuff is great! It is a different type of shave soap. It is not a puck or a glycerine tub(ala Mama Bear) it has the texture of lard. Tipo Morbido means soft type in Italian. I took a small amount and rubbed it in the bottom of my bowl and added some water and made some great lather. I mean great. Has anyone tried this before? Is this a tallow based soap?

Not sure exactly what you have but it sounds a lot like Cella which has both Cocoa Butter and Tallow as lathering agents. I love my Cella!

I use it by loading the brush right off of the soap then face lathering.

Robert, this is my first experience with this type of product. I order some decants from Superlather and also wanted to try this soap. They sent me enough of this stuff to last a very long time. It came in a zip-lock bag and had no label. That's why I was asking if anyone had any information. I have tried Tabac and couldn't get past the smell. But, I know this, I am going to order some of this for sure.

Is it P-160 or Cella? I suspect P-160 as that is available as "tipo morbido" and "tipo duro" and bears the specific language from the OP on the label. They are pretty much the same, P-160 and Cella, I have both and love them very much...they are very moisturizing semi-soaps and also produce a dense protective lather. Follow it up with Floid aftershave for that Italian shave I enjoy so much.

I have the P.160. I used it for the first time to day and I couldn't believe how much luxurious lather I was able to make with just a dab.

I think you have the P-160 tipo morbido. I ordered a 1KG cake this week, cut off a nice 150MG chunk and pressed it into the bottom of a bowl. I put the rest into the fridge to add to it's shelf life which is supposed to be 36 months unrefrigerated. This stuff is great and performed on par with Cella and the best of the Italian soaps. The scent is slightly stronger in the bowl than Cella but is very similar once whipped into a lather(very light scent). For those soap users who have problems with lather this is the one for you. Since the consistency is so soft, you can use anywhere from a little water to more water with good results. I put a very small amount of water on the cake in the bowl and then with loaded up a huge amount of lather in no time with my Omega Pro Boar soaked in hot water. This lather was very rich and very protective. There appears to be a very good conditioning effect of the soap. For the money ($25) for the 1KG cake, this gives you over 6 average bowls of soap. This amounts to about $4 for a 150MG cake. Very good value for luxury performance.
