Rust Spottting?

I appear to be getting rust spotting on my blades. They are very tiny and none are near the edge. I keep the razors in the bathroom near my sink so I'm wondering if it due to the moisture in the air. Therefore I have three questions for the experts:

1. Should I be storing them somewhere else? I really like having them on display near the sink, but if this is going to cause issues it is not worth it.

2. Is there anything I can put on the blade to keep it from happening? These razors are in regular rotation, so anything I put will most likely come off during shaving.

3. What can I use to remove any rust spots without hurting the blades? MAAS?

Carbon steel and moisture don't go well. The will rust if exposed to water or moisture. They need to be away from the sink. You can use oil to protect them. There are many kinds available-camelia oil, mineral oil, sterol for example. Maas will remove the rust just be careful around any decoration on the blade. It will remove that to.

I keep my in the bathroom as well; no issues from spotting or rusting but that is due to using Tuf-Glide. It doesn't wipe off, does a great job of protecting the blade. MAAS should work fine for removing the spots.

EDIT: I should add that I don't keep the razors on the sink. With little ones about, they are stored in the bathroom on a top shelf well out of reach! Nevertheless, I think if you treated them with Tuf-Glide, I think they would be fine.

I keep mine in the bathroom, I make sure that the blade and scales are dry, I then leave the straight I used out in the open in the bathroom. I still need to put it in a secure corner as it happened that SWMBO cleaned the bathroom and the straight start flying in there for some reason... I found a piece of straight one day... It was a horrible day...

Anyways, I strop it when I get home and store it in a pouch in the bathroom still. I don't have those problems.
