Rooney Pure Badger Hair Loss

I purchased a Rooney Pure Badger brush about a month ago. Every time I use it, I seem to lose about 5 hairs either in my Proraso tub or on my face. Is this normal for these brushes?

My Rooney shed in the beginning, I would say for 3 weeks or so, it stopped and rarely sheds one now. The next day after shaving I would gently comb it and remove any loose hairs.

Recommend contacting the vendor. Five hairs per shave isn't a lot, especially for a new brush, but I'd get that conversation started now in case the knot doesn't settle down over the next several weeks.

Proraso tub has very sharp edge. This is where you get your brush damaged. Transfer Proraso into another bowl or, if you don't have a spare bowl, get the croap out, remove the edge and put the croap back.

Nothing wrong with the Rooney brush.

I've had my Rooney 3/1 Pure Badger for over two years and have never lost more than a single hair at any one time. Can't remember the last time its shed a hair.

I'll have to take a look at the edges of my tub. It's still nearly full, so it would only be near the tips that the hairs are contacting the edge of the tub. The hairs that are falling out are down to the knot.

I emailed the vendor who, in turn, emailed Rooney, they suggested washing it with baby shampoo and running a fine tooth comb through it. Rooney also said that pure brushes can take months to settle, so nothing to worry about I suppose.

I have had a T&H 3X2 in Silvertip for about 3-4 months, maybe used 20 times? It has gone from shedding 3-4 hairs per shave to 1-2....it's part of the breaking in process, me thinks.
