Rolls Razor

Can anyone help me with a little info on this thing? When I saw it on ebay I googled "rolls razor badger and blade" and so ive already seen the wiki on it but I cant tell which razor it is. Or whats wrong with it or if it has a blade in it or where i would get a blade for it. Never mind my complete lack of knowledge on the use/maintenance of this contraption. I doubt if I will use it for some time but I saw it and since the stone or whatever is cracked it was cheap i guess, although that is hard to say since i dont have any idea what its worth. Do this things have date codes? Does it look broken? The round cylinder thing behind the razor in the first pic looks messed up, but I wouldnt know if thats normal. Any info would be greatly appreciated.....Does mantic do videos for these? The questions are limitless and im sure will get worse once it arrives later this week or early nest week. Oh yea and my apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum, im not sure if this is a safety razor or some sort of hybrid safety straight or whatever so i didnt know where to put it.

Join the Rolls Razor Social Group. Plenty of information there.

The "round cylinder thing" has a spike on top to which the blade attaches with a half turn.

The blade is attached to the handle and has a guard around three sides.

You should be able to glue the hone together with super glue and use it, cracks across the middle are more problematic.

That one in the photo is the Viscount model. Same works but different shaped case. I have one in my collection of three Rolls.

Apart from the cracked hone it looks in good nick. Personally I'd pass on that one as the blade, when honing, does go almost to the end on the hone and may well get knackered on the joins if you glued it back together.

They are very common on the bay and quite cheap. They are also excellent shavers!
