Rolls Razor Strop Help

Recently received a Rolls Razor that was my late father's... In great condition although the strop has a minor "slice" in it.. can this be repaired? or should I replace? and if so where can I get a new strop to be cut and fit?...
thanks

Welcome to B&B.
I've found that I ended up buying a few Rolls to put togther a couple operational sets. It may be as simple as buying another one with strop and hone in good condition. On the bright side, they're cheap.
Hope it helps,

Hello,

I own 3 of those razors and the leather was always old and dried out, the best thing was to replace them. I went to a local leather maker for belts and jackets and got a scrap piece for $10 and cut to to fit then glued it down. Also there is a fellow on the SRP ( straight razor place) that sells replacement rolls razor strops. The leather is easy to replace, the Hone is Not. So if the hone is OK with no chips or cracks then your fine.

Other then that, I love me rolls razors. Be sure to test the blades like you would a straight razor tho. Sometimes they need a lot of re-honing like 200 laps on the hone, and avoid 'slapping' the blade on the hone and strop when flipping the blade. nice slow even strokes is best. 200 on hone and 150 on strop and it will be good as new.

Good luck,

James
