Ripping Open a Package of Blades

You know, the nice cellophane with the imbedded rip cord...! Just wondering if anyone really has that work for them. I never can get it started. Fingernails don't do it, so i end up slipping my pocket knife blade or scissors into it and once it gets going i can finish it off ok. Curious to see what kinda luck others have!
