Revisited the razor that tore me up a long time ago

When I was 17 or 18 I tought trying a Bic Sensitive disposable wouldn't hurt.

Boy, was I wrong. :scared:

I had the bloodiest shave ever. It was the first time I used a non pivoting razor and was clearly not ready for that.

34 now and a lot more experienced I could not resist picking them up again (10 razors for €1,52).

I now have done 3 shaves with one (and not binned yet) and I must say these are actually very good razors. Ok, they are very light (4 grams) and flimsy but if you do not use pressure, it will not feel flimsy and actually give a decent shave.

The way the blade is exposed in the curved head is actually quite similar to a mild DE razor like a Tech.

I might actually prefer it over the Gillette Guard which I think is a great razor but could do without the pivot.

It might not be the classiest razor but it's certainly a classic! :thumbup1:

My pops has used these his whole life. He also uses BAR SOAP as a shaving cream (***?), and never seems to have any problems. So they must be pretty forgiving

I got one of the bloodiest shaves of my life from one of those about a month or so before I got my first DE. I've only used one disposable since then (it was a 2 blade Wilkinson I picked up while traveling) and had what I consider a DFS. I've been tempted to pick up a pack as a contingency for travel, but I still see red when I see them. Glad it went better for you.

of all the disposible razors i used years ago the bic drew the most blood, i dont know what it was with those razors, i am tempted to try one again, just to see if i can get a nick free shave from one.
