Restores by Mike (lax1mxr)

Take a look at these beauties I just got in the mail. A Plisson and a Simpson's reknotted by our very own Mike (lax1mxr). They look beautiful! And his work is very very neat. If you're looking for someone to work on your brushes I'd definitely recommend Mike. He does great work and communicates every step of the way.
So a big thanks from me to Mike for his work on my brushes!

As an added note, hopefully nobody thinks I'm putting other restorers down in any implicit way. I've worked with both Rudy and Mike and they both offer great service. :thumbup1: So my compliments to one restorer are not underhandedly aimed at insulting any other restorers

I have ordered from Rudy Vey as well. He turned a couple of tulip handles for Me. Awesome work! I used one this morning as a matter of fact. Lots of great folks to work with on B&B.

Damn, I was going to sent you the Kent KS7, but since you'll be disappointed with my amateur workmanship on it ( I'm by no means a pro like Rudy or Mike ) I'll just have to keep it for myself. !!!! :tongue_sm

 No no no! Make sure to send that one my way as well. I'll use it as my workhorse/travel brush since it's such an unattractive piece

I saw the one ont the left and thought how cool he has done an apple logo wounder if he can do one for me too

 that would be kinda cool on a flat black brush wouldn't it? A flat black brush, a straight with flat black scales and a strop with flat black metal accents that come with the purchase of one of these macbooks

Where do the knots come from?

Both are from thegoldennib.com. I had forgotten why I loved these knots so much and had started to think that they were "boring" compared to my 2 band PJ2. That was during the period that I had sold off all my brushes that had these knots.
Now that I tried them again, I know why I love them! They're absolutely AMAZING! They are NOT the same as the Simpson's 2 band hair. But I do not think that they are lesser in quality in any way at all. Super super soft tips and great backbone.
If you're looking to try a restored brush, get the extra stuffed finest knot from thegoldennib. You won't regret it. It is hands down the best value of all brushes; better than a Rooney 1/1 Super in performance and value. :thumbup1:

I've purchased to Mike (lax1mxr) a little brush (18 mm. knot size) and I've to say that it's a nice brush and a very good worker. I've teisted it tree times with cream and soap and she works very, very well. It's a little lathering monster, perfect to facelathering and like a travel brush too.

The golden nib's knot is amazing and a top quality. Mike told me that the hair is a Silvertip Grade A. It's like a toy but a good tool as well.

I concur 100%. I had a brush restored by Rudy Vey and he put a finest w/ extra hair from thegoldennib in there. Man I love that brush! I like it so much I had him make me a custom travel brush with the same hair. Will work awesome on the road face lathering with a shave stick. Like you said...soft but a nice backbone.
