Spent today playing with some terribly constructed premade scales... If I had the blanks I could have done a better job... The sides didn't match and the wedge was just stuck in there and didn't sit flush with the edge... So I disassembled them, sandedall the edges so they are closer in shape and re sanded the rough exterior... Double stacked washers seem to be my favorite... Not a fan of domed or triple stacked washers and single stacked is too plain looking for me.
Tried lining the wedge for the first time... Used brass with black acrylic... Lessons learned... Wait until the glue fully sets and clamp them hard or the glue layer will show up.. Also sand the wedge a little so it sticks better
I wanted a razor to match my brush so that's why I bought these junk scales... Turned out having to do almost as much work as if I started from scratch
I know nothing about jap co razors but I had it lying around looking for a home... Got it in an eBay lot of razors... My restoration ability is very much a work in progress
Wanted it to match this
