Restoration question

I know there are a few who do restorations on straight razors, my question is can the blade on this one be restored without losing the etching? There is a bit of hone wear and some slight rusting on the tang

It is a WM Greaves & Sons (Sheaf Works, Sheffield) and the etching reads "I Stand A No. 1"

Not sure yet if I am keeping this one or selling, but either way I would like to have it restored. My thanks to any of you Gents that may be able to help.

if you sand that, you will probably lose the etching, though if the rust is on the tang then sand that bit only and just give the blade a gentle polish

If you polish it only, the etching should remain. Keyword: should. Every razor is different, and I cannot predict anything with certainty.
