Restoration - Metal Ring?

Hey All,

Working on my brush still and am trying to source a part. The original brush had a metal ring where the knot came out of the hole. (Like a bushing). For example the gold ring in the following image:

Does anyone know where to get them?

The part I have is literally a metal ring... I'll take a picture when I get home. Its basically just a ring, with that lip at the top. It was epoxied into the hole with everything else.

This is a picture of the actual brush.. I'll post a picture of the ring when I get home.

Most of these appear to be a metal ring, but the few I have had the pleasure to work with in restorations, are actually metal cups. The cups are conical and get smaller inside the handle, so they are tapered.

If Rudy says it's a ring then it's gotta be a ring. I'm sure he knows the difference between a ring and a cup. That said, a craft store would be where I would look first.

The ones I did restore had no rings, but the ring was the upper part of a metal cup:

I have some of Shavemac 'economy' knots, and here the knot is set into a plastic cup, the upper part, which will be later visible appears to be a metal ring, but its just a chrome plated plastic. Here is a knot:

rockler (us) or lee valley (canada) sell brass insert for candle holders. Check wood turning section of their websites.

The ones I have seem about the right size for a 24 mm knot.

You might be able to find a smaller one.
