Nothing looks cooler than a minty Eveready SE safety razor. Whether its a 1906,1912, or 1914 0r 1924. I have them all, but with a modern gem blade, all are very chattery, making for a less than enjoyable shave. And yes, I'm using the correct stroke angle for E/Rs. (Shallow angle, Head almost flat to face.) Anyway, these blades work great on the Gem Micromatics and featherweights, but not the old E/Rs. So I picked up an old auto strop on the bay for cheap to use for nos Eveready blades. I got the Neverfail auto strop, (circa 1920's) but I notice that in a lot of pictures, there is an attachment that goes inside. Is that for use with old 3 hole DE blades? Or do I need that piece to strop spined SE blades. Does anyone know about this auto strop? And if so, know where I might source said attachment, or if I even need it? Or does anyone know how to get new gem blades to not be so chattery? Any info on it would be greatly appreciated.
