Repair handle cracks - old type

Does anybody have tips or method of fixing cracks in the handles of these babies?
I've read people had one that had been epoxied, but what type is used and how exactly? I'm thinking one of these should work, should I fill the entire hollow and push the ends in so that it's all stuck together? That would add a bit of weight but I don't mind that.

There are several cracks at each end that need filling. Thanks for looking.

There's a jeweler here, his name escapes me, that mentioned on another post that he files into the crack & then fills it with a sliver of brass. The only downside is having to re-plate, if that's really a big deal. I think if you can catch 'em before they hit the machined portion it'd be well worth it, especially for a daily user.
