Removing a knot set with silicon adhesive

With my last restore (Vulfix 2233 handle with 18mm Golden Nib finest knot) I set it with silicon adhesive. I'd heard it held well, but it was not as permanent as epoxy, so you could remove it in a pinch.

I've decided to try another knot, and have been tugging on the knot but it's not moving. Any thoughts on removing the knot without destroying it?

I set my knots with a small pea sized dollop of silicone adhesive until I decide to make it permanent. I am able to remove the knots by applying a strong but even pull with the hair gripped firmly. If you used more adhesive and an elongated strong pull won't budge the knot, try submerging the entire brush in hot tap water for several minutes, dry it off and try again. The advantage to silicone is that it never hardens like epoxy so the knot will come out it just may require more force than you feel comfortable using. Just remember that by distributing the force of the pull throughout the knot with a firm grip the silicone will give long before you damage the epoxy holding the knot together.

You should take some pictures of your process in case others down the road have the same question. I need to do a full photo documentation of my restoration process too, but once I get in the groove I just can't stop working.
