Recommend me an aftershave

So here's the deal. My skin is on the oily side and I'm prone to acne. I usually stay away from using aftershaves because I end up with a few bumps the next day.

If there was an aftershave that didn't make my skin break out, and had a good dose of menthol kick, that would be wonderful. Unscented would be even better.

Suggestions are welcome!

My skin is about the same as yours and I usually use Aqua Velva musk. Perhaps regular Aqua Velva if you want the kick, Otherwise I would try Old Spice Fresh as that one also works well for me. I would definitely go with splashes not balms as the balms are lotiony and contribute to the oily skin & acne. Most splashes have alcohol but double check and look for them, they tend to be slightly more drying and thats a good thing with oily skin.

How about some Thayers Witch Hazel? Works well as an aftershave and comes in several flavors.

The Medicated one is great as an aftershave plus it comes in handy when the kids take a spill on the sidewalk

I have oily skin as well and I have used Saint Charles Shave Dagger (no menthol though) and I haven't had any serious acne issues (though it does seem to make me more oily). In any case, SCS also has some heavily mentholated aftershaves that I do think they say are acne compatible.

Proraso Splash would be better. I have greasy-normal skin and a splash usually helps.

Pimples seemes to go away quicker when I use a splash.

Other than that, with Mentol, Vintage (Japanese AS) and MG5 (Japanese AS). Both excellent!

Make sure to also try Speick. It is definitely up there with Proraso (better in my opinion).

I happen to love how Clubman smells...so crisp and fresh...and not to strong because I don't like giving off the scent of many 'high-end' Colognes that might cause others to comment that "You smell like a Lady-of-the-night".

It has such a bold masculine and 'timeless' fragrance that instantly cools, tones & refreshes my face and body and is a exhilarating freshener after my morning shaving ritual and shower. A little goes a long, long way with hints of leather and spice that 'lingers' through most of the day...plus the Mrs. loves it

Also, this scent always takes me back when I was a little young 'whipper-snapper' (back in the days of 'ol'e time' Barber Shops w/ leather strops attached to the Barber Chairs and the faint aroma of Cigars),...after getting a fresh haircut ('high & tight'), and getting a 'splash' of Clubman and a scalp massage. Simply Bliss

Now that I'm a 'Big Boy' & all 'grown-up'....my scent of choice is Clubman Special Reserve...one of the true 'Arts of Manliness'

I am prone to oily skin too, and I usually use Aqua Velva Musk, Pinaud Clubman, or Old Spice...all splashes, no balm or lotions unless it happens to be a very dry day (like in Ohio winters, on occasion).

I used to apply my wife's face lotion but after awhile, I wanted to smell a little different than my wife. So I put down $16 and got Proraso ASB. It's clean with slight scent and light on the face.

It is unscented and has menthol and is nice and cooling post shave.
