Real Personnas?

Picked these up in asda for £1.80 for a 10 pack. says they are made in Israel.

Are they the real deal or just a cheap copyright infringing fake?

(Image from ASDA's website as i couldn't be bothered to photograph my own)

Those are the real deal, tesco's are the same as well.

From what i've heard, superdrug and sainsbury's use dorco 301's

If you get on good with those, id highly recommend personna med/lab blades.

Not as sharp as my astra sp, but they are oh so smooth yet still remain sharp once my astra blade is used up i'll throw one of those in my R41 to really see how it fares, as my slant isn't really up to the job.

Looks like crystals aka blues. I prefer them to reds, but YMMV.

And for 18p per blade, I want a slider pack.

Those are what are often referred to here as "Crystal" or "Blue IP" (Israeli Personna) blades. They are packaged both individually wrapped and in sliding dispensers. They're generally well-regarded here and have lots of fans, myself included.

Are they usually difficult to obtain? Or are they just an average blade. How would you describe the performance? I think i'll replace my feather with one this morning.

Scarcity has nothing to do with quality, especially when it comes to blades. This being said, they're easily found at brick and mortar stores, as well as from online retailers. I bought 1300 of them last August at a great price. They're consistently high quality blades that do the job well for me. They stay sharper longer than Feather blades, too.

Wow I found crystals to be pretty dull (then again my whiskers are pretty coarse) but the red IPs seemed better.

I've only tried one blade without writing and just because almost every blade I've seen, including under 10 cents/blade ones and they all have some stamp....

I am leery of un stamped blades, sounds fake :/ I wonder why on earth they'd skip the stamping?

Counterfeit blades are usually printed with the brand name on them, for authenticity's sake. Super Iridium and Feather brands command high prices, so there is an incentive to counterfeit them. There's little to no incentive to counterfeit blades that can purchased inexpensively, to begin with.

In addition to packaging blades under the Personna and Crystal brands, the Israeli plant also packages private-label store brands for chain store retailers. I'm sure that it's more economical to leave them blank, so that they can fulfill orders as needed without having to do specific production runs for each store brand.

They're excellent blades for a lot of people. If they work for the OP, then there's no need for him to keep chasing after the elusive Holy Grail of blades, like so many do. That can become very expensive in a short amount of time.

Oh no nothing against crystals, everyones' skin is different. I am curious about the blank blades. I got Bolzanos that were blank, had a paper sleeve but blank blade. I couldn't find anything about them being blank ever, I think they might be counterfeit....

They work ok too since I tried one, but that doesn't mean they're real...

what about the personna reds, they are from Israel and work great- are they knows as red IP,s-----------what exactly are red IP,s

Dollar General stores in the US sold the unmarked IPs until sometime in 2008, IIRC. No name, just arrows. Shaved as well as the Super+ Platinum, Crystal, etc.

Stamping costs money. :001_smile
