Real leather padfolio

I am looking for advice on a quality, genuine leather padfolio for school, can anybody give me a suggestion as to where to obtain such an item. I would like to get one without the zippers, just something simple to hold a legal pad, and a few papers. Thanks in advance for any advice!

thanks alot for the suggestions guys, whenever i said legal pad i meant 8.5 x 11, i was kind of looking for something a little less expensive maybe $50 at the high end of things, but that saddleback is really what i want :)

I was hoping that you would buy it and write a review, that way I would know if its worth the high price tag. :001_smile

My wife bought me a Colonel Littleton No. 18 portfolio for Christmas last year, and I love it.

EDIT: Here's the legal size #18.

Awesome! I really like the look of that one. I actually have a bit of a portfolio problem...I have this one from Aspinal of London that I enjoy:

...But I recently went a little nuts and ordered one bespoke from Swaine Adeney Brigg.

I have this one (Thanks Santa!). Excellent constriction, looks fantastic, the leather is thick and high quality. I look forward to using it for years and years to come. I did handle the Levengers when I was comparison shopping (I liked the looks of their bomber jacket folio, and still do). Nice to be sure, but the price premium for saddleback gets you three times the folio in terms of quality and durability, in my opinion.

At your perfectly understandable $50 price point, I'd say go for a cheap office depot version for a few years (mine lasted 10, but started showing signs of wear three years out) while you save up for one that'll last.

Well said, Chad. The Colonel Littleton price point (more than double the current $50) is indeed worth it, in my opinion, so +1 to the idea that you should get a serviceable portfolio now, and treat yourself for Christmas 2010.

Thanks Chad. That is exactly what I didn't need to hear. Maybe for my birthday, or Christmas this year.

Will you use it everyday?

Pretty much -- It holds my lecture notes for teaching and accompanies me to (all too many) meetings. I'll definitely give it a workout!

This is what I used in university. In fact I still do prefer these to any pad that I've ever had. Ok . . . It does not have that nice leather smell I'll admit.

Can't go wrong with Levenger. Go to ebay and type in Levenger. They have an on-line store where the products are slighty scratched, damaged or mis-monogrammed. I have picked up some great items for not a lot of money here.
