Razors with Cool Twisty Knurling

What are these razors called? I keep seeing them and I think they look really nice. They have knurling that twists down their handle, like a candy cane. I'm pretty sure they're vintage gillettes of some kind, I just don't know what the model is called

There are Old style ones like that, I think they're called "Bulldog" handles. And then there are some British Aristocrat models, maybe all the Brit Aristocrats, that have them. They're Gillettes, and I've never seen one that didn't cost an arm and a leg. There's a beautiful Old one on the bay right now I don't even want to think of what it'll go for. I believe it's called a "barber pole" handle.

Ah ok, thanks guys =) I have noticed that they tend to be very expensive lol

Not always.

A three-piece Bulldog is my holy grail of antique shop finds. If I ever see one, someone better be behind me, because I will faint!

Bandman: Couple of questions about the #47 Popular:

- is it rhodium plated, or nickel?

- is the handle really thinner than that of the others?

I ask because I just bought a razor that I thought was a #47, but it does not look exactly like yours.
